Pilot ERP migration Oracle to SAP
The customer is the subsidiary of a leading global energy solutions group that designs, manufactures, and services equipment used in the extraction of petroleum and natural gas.
Customer need/ Project scope
After the group acquired a Norwegian subsidiary, it was decided to migrate the subsidiary’s existing Oracle solution to SAP, which was used by the group. The subsidiary’s Norwegian unit was chosen as the migration’s pilot site.
Brief description of Akselera’s role, deliverables and results
Akselera advisors provided project management, team leaders, change management, and SAP expertise to the project. Their main contribution to the Norwegian site project was in the following project streams:
The project achieved the successful adoption of the group’s SAP template, which already had more than 15,000 users. All master and relevant transaction data was cleaned and migrated on time. The Norwegian site’s key users developed the training materials and were responsible for end-user training, which created the basis for a local support team. During its first three months of operation, the SAP system yielded no noticeable dip in performance, and the first quarterly financial closing was completed with honors.
