The customer is a leading Norwegian supplier of tools, fasteners, and hardware for the construction and building services industry. With a nationwide sales and logistics network, the company delivers professional products and solutions to contractors and industrial clients. Reliable supply, efficient logistics, and strong purchasing operations are key to maintaining its high service standards and competitive edge.

Project scope

The project aimed to strengthen logistics performance and improve the interaction between purchasing and replenishment processes. The main objectives were to reduce stock levels while maintaining a consistently high fulfillment rate, optimize operations at the central warehouse, and improve overall management of the supply chain department.

Akselera was engaged to assess process efficiency, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend concrete next steps — including an implementation timeline and organizational setup. In addition, Akselera took on interim management responsibility for the logistics department, ensuring continuity during the transformation phase.

Akselera’s role, deliverables and results

Akselera’s advisors conducted a detailed assessment of logistics and procurement processes, identifying and validating improvement opportunities related to ERP adjustments, process design, reporting, and master data management. A structured project plan was developed to implement these initiatives, to be led by the newly appointed logistics manager with coaching and support from Akselera.

As the company’s revenue and product range grew rapidly, Akselera was again engaged to evaluate and lead a selection project for warehouse automation, ensuring scalability and efficiency in the expanding logistics operation.

The project delivered significant results — improved coordination between purchasing and warehouse functions, optimized stock levels, and stronger reporting and data governance. The warehouse automation initiative further enhanced operational performance, enabling the company to maintain high service levels while supporting continued business growth.
