About the customer

The customer is a municipally owned company responsible for operating and maintaining one of Norway’s largest public transport networks, including metro and tram services. The organization plays a vital role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable mobility to hundreds of thousands of passengers every day. It is also a key contributor to Norway’s ongoing digital transformation of public infrastructure and transportation.

Project scope

To enhance operational efficiency and modernize its infrastructure management, the company initiated a comprehensive digitalization program consisting of several interrelated projects. The overall goal was to document, standardize, and digitalize maintenance processes within the Infrastructure Department while improving data quality and information flow.

A key ambition of the program was to leverage real-time asset condition data to support data-driven decision-making and optimize maintenance planning, execution, and long-term investment strategies. Through this effort, the organization aimed to achieve smarter maintenance scheduling, improved documentation, and increased transparency across its operations.

Akselera’s role, deliverables and results

Akselera contributed with project management and IFS advisory expertise, playing a central role in implementing advanced preventive maintenance functionality within the IFS ERP platform. Acting as project manager for one of the program’s core subprojects, Akselera was responsible for ensuring that digital scheduling and documentation requirements were fully integrated into daily maintenance operations.

Our consultant managed project governance, progress reporting, stakeholder engagement, and risk control in alignment with the client’s overall digitalization strategy. In addition, Akselera provided IFS subject-matter expertise across multiple related projects, ensuring consistency, best practice application, and effective collaboration between technical and operational teams.

The digitalization program successfully established a more data-driven and transparent maintenance framework, leading to improved resource utilization, better documentation, and increased efficiency in the public transport network.
