Benefits through smarter
warehousing decisions

About the customer

The customer is a leading company in the retail and consumer goods industry, operating across the Nordic market.

Project scope

As the company’s existing warehouse capacity had become insufficient to support further growth, Akselera was engaged to perform a dynamic capacity assessment and deliver strategic recommendations. The main objectives were to determine whether to establish a shared Nordic warehouse or a new national warehouse in Norway, and to identify opportunities to improve retailer purchasing behavior through process, technology, and assortment adjustments. The goal was to reduce excess stock, enhance fulfillment performance, and enable scalable logistics operations aligned with the company’s growth strategy.

Akselera’s role, deliverables and results

Akselera led a cross-functional team, working closely with business process owners through workshops and quality assurance sessions over a three-month period. By combining deep process knowledge, analytical capability, and industry insight, the team developed data-driven scenarios and interactive simulations that enabled fact-based decision-making. The analysis ultimately supported the decision to rent a new warehouse outside Oslo and to invest in an advanced Autostore robotic solution to improve efficiency and capacity.

In addition, Akselera delivered a structured improvement plan covering process design, technology enhancements, KPI development, and assortment management. The plan was backed by a comprehensive business case demonstrating substantial operational and financial benefits. The recommendations were subsequently implemented, contributing to more efficient warehouse operations, improved retailer collaboration, and a stronger foundation for future growth.
