Interim leader in a Welfare competence and support center

The customer is one of the largest municipalities in Norway.

Customer need/ Project scope

After implementing large electronic patient journals (EPJ) system, the municipality needed to establish a competence center that could support its organization to follow established processes, use its systems and engage in the continuous improvement of processes and solutions.

Brief description of Akselera’s role, deliverables and results

Akselera was asked to help the municipality establish a competence center that would be responsible for supporting its Health and Care sector. The objective was to establish good best practice processes, implement new technology (welfare and e-health), and continuously improve the services delivered in the municipality’s Health and Care department.

Akselera performed several roles, such as competence center and process responsible and facilitated performance measurements and follow-up. We helped manage the competence center until we were able to find a good candidate to fill the role permanently. The interim manager reported to the director of the municipality’s Health and Care department, (Kommunalsjef for Pleie og Omsorg) and was a part of the management team.

The competence center was responsible for supporting and continuously improving processes and systems for an organization of approximately 5,000 employees.
