The customer is the largest pharmaceuticals company in Japan and a leader in the global pharmaceuticals industry, with operations in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Customer need/ Project scope ​

The main objective of the FSOP program was to establish a more sustainable forecasting process, improve forecast accuracy, and reduce inventory in the company’s worldwide supply chain.

Brief description of Akselera’s role, deliverables and results ​

Akselera advisors provided project management, solution architecture, supply chain planning and forecasting, and process and SAP expertise to the project.  Their main contribution to the project was​ the successful creation of a new forecasting process, including a new organizational set-up and a local demand review implemented worldwide. The forecasting process was fully aligned with the financial planning process. ​In addition, a supply review process, including use of an Economic Stock Optimizer, was implemented at the company’s manufacturing facilities.
